The desert is dry so most of the time the cactus look dry and colorless.
Here's a barrel cactus we found today that looks pretty dry and colorless -



Within 1 minute I took this photo of the same barrel cactus -



Not imaging work in the imaging program. Linda just poured a little water
over the cactus, about a half a bottle. It certainly wouldn't hurt the cactus
and you end up with a lot more colorful cactus.

Yes it does, but you use up all your water and die of thirst before you get out of the desert. LOL
