We made it over to the Ocotillo Cactus Festival on Saturday and got a report for you on the Local happenings Page  if you've never been there and your in the area (say Anza Borrego State park) this would be a neat stop, look at the link on the local happenings page. Keep checking these listings out, it'll give you some ideas for next year!

Sunday is the last day for the Midnight at the Oasis car show in Yuma. We took over 400 photos of the old classic cars, hot rods, etc on Friday. Sunday I'll be working all day getting them ready to make a slide show (a short version and a full version) for all you car fanatics. It should be done Sunday evening, and when it is I'll post a link here. There was a lot of really neat old cars there, it was a blast. They even let us run in the parade!

On the Midnight at the Oasis Page (which is over now) you'll find a small slide show at the bottom of the page. There is also a link to a very large slide show with 388 of the vehicles that entered the Car Show. There were 1,011 historic cars all together. There were also thousands of people packed all along the roads on the Fun Run course that started at 4:30 Friday afternoon. It was all orderly and fun. What a sight. If you like old cars and hot rods, then look at the link to the larger slide show. And next year come over and see this great event.

We just added another page to the Day Trips section of the site. 3/11/10

Did you ever think about going to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

This will give you good idea of what to expect. It's probably one of the prettiest parts of the Sonoran Desert. Take a look!
