Don't tell me no one out there that reads these threads in here hasn't thought about or gone looking for a treasure of some sort. Even if it's to look for the widely know legend like Pegleg's Gold, or the Lost Dutchman's mine or the Kokoweef Lost river of gold. Not that these treasure's or mines may not be found some day, but have you ever wondered:
- If there is really such a thing as a lost treasure, or lost mine?
- Have you ever heard of one being found?
- Do you know someone who found one?
- Are they all located in the Southwest or Mexico?
My answers to the above: There have been several good sized treasures found, think about it, if nothing else the shipwrecks in the Caribbean. There has also been several found in Mexico, and the Southwest. One I know about personally. Now they can be located anywhere, for example we're still researching one in Illinois placed there by Desoto. Sound crazy, then do a Google search on Desoto and do some research your self.
We're also looking for some lost gold bars in an area near where we live, actually a little East of here. A good friend, and in fact a member of this message board is doing the research into this one.
What's important about this latest one? It's not known by hundreds of people, or even a few. Thousands of people haven't trampled all the mountains looking for it. Is it real, well I think so, and it's a good possibility because it's not well known. Are we going to look for it -- of course!
You've probably heard this before, I've said it many times. Why go looking for a mine or a gold deposit, or a wash with placer gold? It'll take a lot of hard work to get it all, if there's much left. When you could find a stack of gold bars and some Spaniard or miner already did all the hard work for you. We'll get back to you on the gold bars.
